SHAH ALAM, April 13 (Bernama) -- Selangor FM, the radio station of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) in Selangor, is to relocate from the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah building here to the Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting Institute (IPTAR) near Angkasapuri in Kuala Lumpur this month.
Selangor Director of Broadcasting Isamudin Ahmad said the relocation would be made in stages so that its broadcast was not disrupted.
Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek said yesterday that he would direct Selangor FM to relocate after Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said Selangor FM should leave the building if it refused to air the Selangor government programmes.
Isamudin said Selangor FM had been occupying a leased area in the building since 1991 and its lease agreement was expected to expire next month.
He said the relocation to IPTAR would be for a three-year period after which Selangor FM would move to its new office on an eight-acre site behind the Sirim Bhd office here that was being built at a cost of RM30 million.
